Guest Speaker: Mr Mike Ennis

Mike Ennis is known to many of us as a highly respected colleague, as a teacher, a Guidance Officer, a Senior Guidance Officer or a Principal. Mike’s career with Education Queensland began as a high school teacher, in south-east Queensland and in the far north, before he trained as a Guidance Officer. He served in country schools and regional centres in Guidance roles before winning many positions as a school Principal throughout the state. From 2017 to 2018, he was the principal at Aurukun SS P-12 on Cape York. The unmistakable stamp that Mike left on each school was his intrinsic and honest respect for all members of the communities in which he was involved. Mike will share his reflections on his time in those roles and some of his principles that are common to shaping change in a wide range of school circumstances.
The QGCA Annual General Meeting (AGM) allows members to review the past year, elect office-bearers, and ask any questions regarding QGCA. Please send any business items to the QGCA secretary at least 14 days prior to the AGM via info@qgca.org.au It also provides an opportunity to rejuvenate the QGCA state executive by nominating colleagues to be on the executive. It is important to have fresh faces, new ideas and contagious enthusiasm to keep the QGCA dynamic, vital and current in the ever-changing world of guidance.
